Film Review – LomoChrome Metropolis

LomoChrome Metropolis Film Review: The Urban Legend

In the world of Lomography, where color shifts and funky effects reign supreme, three legends stand tall—LomoChrome Turquoise, LomoChrome Purple, and the newest member of the gang, LomoChrome Metropolis. Now, if Turquoise and Purple are the life of the party, with their wild color effects and all, Metropolis is the cool, calm, and collected one—perfect for your everyday adventures in the urban jungle.

I tried the Purple version which is hard to find and like it for some very unique photos.

Mild Yet Wild

LomoChrome Metropolis is like the stylish older sibling who doesn’t need to shout to be noticed. While Turquoise and Purple might steal the spotlight with their intense, almost psychedelic hues, Metropolis is more about subtlety. It desaturates colors, mutes tones, and adds a nice dose of contrast, making it your go-to film for those times when you want your photos to have a cinematic, gritty feel without going over the top.

Versatile and Reliable

One of the standout features of Metropolis is its incredible exposure latitude. This film is as versatile as your favorite pair of jeans—you can shoot it anywhere from 100 to 400 ISO, and it’s still going to look great. I’ve personally found that 200 ISO is the sweet spot, especially if you’re like me and love that perfect balance between detail and moodiness. It’s got enough flexibility to handle a range of lighting conditions, so you don’t have to worry about overthinking your exposure settings. Just point, shoot, and let Metropolis work its magic.

City Slicker

Metropolis feels right at home in the city. Whether you’re wandering through narrow alleyways, capturing the hustle and bustle of busy streets, or getting artsy with urban landscapes, this film gives your shots that cool, desaturated vibe that screams “modern classic.” The muted tones and strong contrast bring out the textures and details in the scene, making everyday moments look like they belong in a high-end photo book.

I have done some photos in the park and they came out great too.

Final Thoughts

LomoChrome Metropolis is like your reliable sidekick, always ready to make your photos look effortlessly stylish. It’s got just the right amount of quirkiness to keep things interesting, but it’s versatile enough to be your go-to film for a wide range of situations. Whether you’re shooting a day in the life of your city or exploring new places, Metropolis adds that extra touch of cinematic flair to your images. It’s not as flashy as its siblings, but it’s every bit as cool—just in a more understated way.
